News Update
Due to beach access issues on Hayling Island, we are in the process of changing location and are unable to take any new bookings until Spring 2009. Alternative schools that we personally can recommend include Paracademy in Weymouth or Transition in Whitstable. Existing Ocean Fusion students wishing to complete their courses should contact us to make alternative arrangements.
Overview
Our Instruction Programme provides all the skills and knowledge required for you to practice kitesurfing safely and proficiently. If you are serious about taking up the sport, then this is the course for you. Supervision Sessions are aimed at students who have already received kitesurfing instruction, but who are not yet sufficiently confident to practise their kitesurfing independently. We now also offer a choice of two Experience Days, a Zapcat Experience for those seeking an high speed adrenalin filled experience and our Wakeboarding Sessions are aimed at kitesurfers wishing to improve their board riding skills or simply for those seeking an awesome day out on the water.
Instruction
Our courses are run by experienced IKO/BKSA dual certified instructors committed to delivering comprehensive and personalised instruction in a controlled environment. Your instructor will provide you with the knowledge, coaching and encouragement required for you to gain the maximum benefit from your course, whilst having a great time! Your instructor is always on hand for any queries you may have in the future.
Equipment
We provide all the equipment necessary for you to complete your course safely and effectively. This includes personal gear such as wetsuits, helmets, harnesses, buoyancy aids, neoprene boots and a range of kites and kite boards appropriate for your build, confidence level and the wind conditions on the day. All you need to bring with you is a towel, swimming gear and sun protection. We also have our own safety boat which enables us to deliver courses in offshore conditions, thus eliminating the need to cancel your course should the wind shift offshore.
Safety
We are emphatic about safety in terms of our teaching practices, the equipment we use and the safety principles we instill in our students. Our aim is to develop safe yet confident kitesurfers. Kitesurfing has gained a reputation as an extreme and hence dangerous sport, but it need not be dangerous at all! There are certain risks associated with kitesurfing, but if you fully understand the dynamics of kitesurfing, and take simple precautions, you reduce the risk factor immensely and you will have the self-assurance to develop your skills with confidence.
Insurance
Students are covered by third party liability insurance for the duration of your course, however on completion of the course, we do advise that you obtain your own insurance to cover your kitesurfing activities. Third party liability insurance is included with membership of the BKSA. Application for membership also caters for you to join your regional kitesurfing club at the same time at a discount.
