Due to beach access issues on Hayling Island, we are in the process of changing location and are unable to take any new bookings until Spring 2009. Alternative schools that we personally can recommend include Paracademy in Weymouth or Transition in Whitstable. Existing Ocean Fusion students wishing to complete their courses should contact us to make alternative arrangements.

Overview

Supervision Sessions are offered by our partner school Zero Gravity and are aimed at students who have already received kitesurfing instruction, but who are not yet sufficiently confident or proficient to practise their kitesurfing independently. These sessions enable you to consolidate your existing skills and to develop any skills you may still need in order to become a confident and independent kitesurfer. A session involves a minimum of 2 hours of coaching and supervision from your IKO/BKSA qualified instructor Phil Elborough, places are limited to two students and all the equipment you need is provided. Candidates for this course must be aged 18 or over, relatively fit and capable of swimming at least 25 meters. This course is a natural follow on from the Ocean Fusion Instruction Programme, completion of which, or an IKO Level 1-2 skill level are prerequisite for enrolment.

Format

On arrival at Zero Gravity, you will be issued with any equipment you need and then head on down to the beach to set your kite and lines up. After checking your equipment and delivering a safety briefing, Phil will launch your kite and then it's into the water for your riding session. With your current skill level, you should already have been up on the board a couple of times, but now the objective is to have you get up every time and then for you to stay out of the water for increasingly longer rides. Your instructor aims to improve your kite and board skills to the level where you are totally comfortable to practice on your own. Depending on your personal progression, more advanced skills such as transition turns and how to ride upwind will also be focussed on.

Pricing

Standard 2 hour sessions are priced at £50, but should you wish to extend your session, this can be arranged at a rate of £25 per hour.
